Democracy vs. Republic: the Stockholm Syndrome of Dependency, and the Constitutional Breakaway of New California State
In the last days, God says,
“I will pour out My Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.”
(Acts 2:17 / Joel 2:28) This is the hour we are living in.
The Holy Spirit is being poured out, and many are waking up to see what has been hidden in plain sight.
People may not yet see what some of us are beginning to see.
The word “democracy” has been so tightly woven into our language that most Americans now equate it with freedom, equal rights, and social justice. But that equation is a powerful spell — one that has quietly replaced the Founders’ vision of a Republic with something very different.
Let’s break the spell together.
What “Democracy” Really Means — And How It Evolved
Pure democracy is majority rule.
The majority gets what it wants — period.
There are no permanent protections for the minority, for individual rights, or for property. The Founders studied history and saw this clearly: pure democracies always collapse into tyranny or mob rule. Over time, the word “democracy” was deliberately broadened and romanticized. It became tied to “equal rights,” “social justice,” and “fairness.” It justified endless new programs, subsidies, mandates, regulations, and identity-based favoritism. It created a vast lattice of contracts, licenses, permits, taxes, and dependencies that most people don’t even realize are invisible chains.
Today, “democracy” is used to defend corporate welfare, endless subsidies, regulatory capture, and central planning — all in the name of “the will of the people.” The majority (or the loudest organized groups) can vote away the rights and property of the minority. That is not liberty. That is soft tyranny dressed up as compassion.
The Stockholm Syndrome of Dependency
Once the lattice of contracts and subsidies is in place, something psychological happens.
People begin to defend the very system that chains them.
They fear losing the “free” benefits, the safety nets, the government programs — even when those nets have become cages. This is modern Stockholm syndrome: emotional attachment to the captor because the alternative feels scarier.
We become dependent on the very government that was supposed to serve us, and we call it “freedom.” The Founders knew this danger. That is why they deliberately gave us a Constitutional Republic, not a democracy.
What a Republic Actually Is — And How It Was Lost
A Republic is a government of limited, enumerated powers where the rights of the individual and the sovereignty of the states are protected by a written Constitution.
Power flows upward: from the people → the county → the state → a very limited federal government.
The majority cannot vote away the God-given rights of the minority.
The Founders called this “liberty under law.”
We lost it gradually through amendments, the New Deal, the Great Society, and the explosion of the administrative state. “Democracy” rhetoric replaced “Republic” in our vocabulary, and with it came the idea that the government’s job is to provide for the people instead of protecting their liberty.
New California State — The Constitutional Breakaway
This is where NCS comes in. New California State is walking the same lawful constitutional path that Lincoln supported in West Virginia during the Civil War: a people who no longer consent to be governed by a tyrannical state government reorganize under their original constitution and seek recognition as a new state. Just as Lincoln helped free people from a state that no longer represented them, President Trump is supporting the restoration of self-government and the return of power to We the People.
NCS is not fighting the old system.
It is building the New — county by county — with sovereign county stewardship, allodial title, no income tax on labor, no perpetual property tax, the 9 Branches of the Tree of Life, and a true servitude mindset. This is the Republic being restored.
This is the Garden being returned to.
This is “Thy Kingdom come, on earth as it is in Heaven.”
The Choice Before Us
We can keep believing the spell that “democracy = freedom.”
Or we can wake up, humble ourselves, and return to the constitutional Republic the Founders gave us — and ultimately to the Garden model God designed.
In the last days, God says,
“I will pour out My Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.”
This is that hour.
The Spirit is being poured out.
Old men (and women) are dreaming big dreams with childlike faith.
The Garden is calling us back. Let’s go back to the Garden.
