Many assume “green” or regenerative building is more expensive. In reality, hempcrete and bio-fiber homes are often cheaper long-term (lower insurance, lower energy bills, fire-resistant so less rebuilding cost). But because there haven’t been thousands of visible examples yet, people don’t believe it until they see it. - The Old System Benefits from Ignorance
Traditional construction, insurance, and lending industries make more money when people keep rebuilding the same vulnerable way after every fire. There has been little incentive to widely promote better methods — until now.
